Wisdom from other parents
Here are some tools parents used to help them give medicines at home:
- Cell phone alarms to remember doses
- Medicine bag to keep their medicine in one place
- Bring all medicine to the doctor to review
- Food to cover the taste of the medicine: flavored syrup, sherbet with rainbow sprinkles, apple sauce
- Use M&Ms to teach your child to take pills
"For awhile when I was pregnant, his Dad did all the meds, because I didn't want to touch them." Lori S.
"There was one time when he had the Bactrim, and it was a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and Friday morning, I forgot it. So I put out all of his pills and I didn't put out the Bactrim, and he looks and he goes, Mommy is today Friday? And I'm like, Yeah. He's like, Where's my Bactrim?" Brenda V.
