Why use a calendar for giving medicine to children with cancer?
- The dose of medicine changes frequently
- The bottle label may not have the current dose
- Parents sometimes don't understand when their doctor tells them to change doses of chemotherapy at home and then they fail to change the dose
- You can check off the calendar to show the dose is given, so you don't miss doses
- If more than one person gives the medicine to your child at home, you can write on the calendar to show the other person you gave the medicine
- You can use it to show the current medication dosing to other people at home who give medicine, who may not have been at the child's doctor's appointments
- Other parents of children with cancer find a home calendar helpful
